HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's rugby is set for its final home contest of the regular season on Saturday afternoon in Hamden, as the Bobcats play host to Sacred Heart at 1:00 PM.
The Bobcats will celebrate Senior Day pregame in Hamden. Amelia Rizzi, Gillian Mason, Lucy Lamborn, Kelsey Thomas, and Gabrielle Appiah will all be honored prior to game time.

- Quinnipiac battled to a road victory on Saturday afternoon, earning a commanding 29-10 win over Navy.
- Layla Cox scored twice in the win for QU, while Lucy Lamborn and Rebecca Balladares each found the try zone once.
- Alexa Kirschner knocked in a penalty kick to get the scoring started for the Bobcats in the first half. She also made three conversion attempts.
- Quinnipiac's defensive unit held strong in the win, holding Navy to just five points in each half of play.
- SHU enters at 2-3 overall. The Pioneers have dropped three consecutive matchups against Dartmouth, Army, and Harvard entering play
- Quinnipiac is 5-1 all-time against Sacred Heart.
- SHU won the 2024 matchup, 43-33, in Fairfield.
- Carlson enters her 15th year at the helm of the Quinnipiac Women's Rugby team in 2025-26, leading the transition from a new varsity program into a three-time national champion. Carlson has been a key advocate for women's NCAA rugby and equality in athletics for over a decade.
- As the original head coach of the Quinnipiac women's rugby team added in 2011, Becky Carlson is up to 98 career victories with the Bobcats – including back-to-back-to-back Division I NIRA national championship titles in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
- Alexa Kirschner recorded 22 solo tackles in Quinnipiac's contest vs. Lindenwood on Sept. 19 setting a new single-game team record. She completed 92 percent of her tackles during the battle against Lindenwood.
- Quinnipiac most recently wrapped up the 2024 regular season with a 4-3-2 overall record (2-3-2 NIRA).
- The Bobcats defeated Navy, Penn State, Princeton and AIC in four consecutive games (Sept. 21 – Oct. 12).
- Anna Wright led the Bobcats with 79 tackles a season ago, while Layla Cox ranked second with 61 tackles.
- Layla Cox also led the Bobcats with 10.41 meters/carry, and she found the try zone 10 times during 2024. Fellow returner Lucy Lamborn found the try zone five different times last year.
