QU Moves to 9-1 in MAAC Play
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac Men's Basketball earned its sixth straight league win on Friday night, as the Bobcats downed Fairfield by the final score of 81-69 in front of 2,812 fans at M&T Bank Arena.
Amarri Monroe (27 points, 10 rebounds) and Paul Otieno (15 points, 13 rebounds) both recorded a double-double to pace the Bobcats in the victory.
The Bobcats outrebounded Fairfield 41-28 in total, and held a 28-16 advantage over the Stags on points in the paint.
Jaden Zimmerman chipped in with 14 points off the bench, while Khaden Bennett added 10 points and eight rebounds. Savion Lewis dished out eight helpers in the win.
Quinnipiac is now 9-1 over the first half of the MAAC schedule for the second consecutive season under Head Coach Tom Pecora.

NUMBERS AND NOTES
- The Bobcats shot 25-of-57 in total. QU knocked down 10 3-pointers for just the third time this year.
- Quinnipiac used a 16-3 run near the end of the second half to pull away. The run ended on a Jaden Zimmerman 3-pointer with 2:14 left, giving the Bobcats a 77-62 lead at the time.
- Amarri Monroe posted a career-high 27 points on 8-of-14 shooting over 27 minutes. The forward has seven double-doubles (second in MAAC) already this season, and four over the last six games. Monroe is averaging 18.6 PPG & 8.9 RPG in MAAC play. He has 20+ points in three of his last four outings. The Preseason MAAC Player of the Year scored 17 points in the second half alone.
- Paul Otieno now leads the MAAC with 10 double-doubles in 2024-25. He posted 15 points and 13 rebounds to help QU earn the home win. Otieno is averaging 12.5 PPG & 9.4 RPG on 60.8% shooting in MAAC play through 10 contests. He had 11 points and seven rebounds during the second half of play.
- Khaden Bennett added 10 points and eight rebounds. He has 18 rebounds over the last two games. Bennett is averaging 13.4 PPG in league action.
- Savion Lewis added eight more assists on the night, giving him 82 helpers (5.5 APG) in 2024-25.
- Jaden Zimmerman's 14 points off the bench mark his second-highest scoring output as a Bobcat. He went 5-of- from the field in 20 minutes.
- Doug Young chipped in with seven points – all of which came during the first half of play.
- Quinnipiac has taken five of the last seven meetings against the Stags.
- Tonight's attendance (2,812) is the highest for any Quinnipiac home game so far this season, and the most since the Bobcats drew a sellout crowd during last year's ESPNU game against Fairfield (3,570) on 2/23/24.
- QU is set to hit the floor again on Sunday (2/3), taking on Siena in Albany, NY.
- Quinnipiac will host a pair of MAAC games in Hamden again next week, as the Bobcats will square off with Canisius (2/6) and Niagara (2/8) at M&T Bank Arena.
