Jacob Quillan Called up to NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs

TORONTO — The hero of the 2023 National Championship game, former Quinnipiac men's ice hockey player Jacob Quillan has been called up to the Toronto Maple Leafs, the organization announced on Wednesday morning.
Quillan, who scored the overtime winner 10 seconds into the extra session to earn the program's first ever national championship two years ago, has been a standout forward for the Toronto Marlies, the club's AHL affiliate. He has recorded six goals and nine assists in 35 games, including a plus-nine rating. He signed a two-year, entry-level deal at the end of the 2023-24 season, capping a collegiate career in which he recorded 93 points in 116 college games.
He also earned the 2024 Gladiator ECAC Best Defensive Forward award and was tabbed the 2023 Most Outstanding Player at the Frozen Four.
The Maple Leafs return to action on Wednesday night, taking on Columbus at 7:30 p.m. in Toronto.
