
Bobcats Earn Gritty Comeback Win Sunday at Iona

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Quinnipiac Men's Basketball completed a comeback victory on the road at Iona on Sunday afternoon at Hynes Athletics Center, as the Bobcats erased a 14-point first-half deficit to earn a gritty 63-62 win.
QU moves to 5-1 in MAAC play with the victory. The Bobcats went on a 14-5 run over the final 4:08 of the first half, then QU outscored the Gaels 30-25 in the second half.
Paul Otieno registered another double-double in the win, posting 12 points and 13 rebounds in just 21 minutes on the floor. Amarri Monroe added 12 points, five rebounds, two steals and two blocks.
Doug Young recorded 10 points off the bench. Jaden Zimmerman added nine points, and Alexis Reyes chipped in with 8.
Zimmerman made a pair of free throws with 4:40 to go, and the Bobcats led the rest of the way.

- Alexis Reyes made a clutch jumper at 5:38 to put the Bobcats down by just one point, Amarri Monroe converted on a two-point shot at 4:06, and Doug Young made a stepback jumper with 3:36 left to help clinch the victory.
- The Bobcats shot 22-of-64 in total. Both teams knocked down 6 triples.
- Quinnipiac held Iona to just 10-of-34 (29.4%) shooting in the second half.
- The Bobcats outscored Iona 30-12 in second-chance points. QU grabbed 20 offensive rebounds (9 from Paul Otieno).

- Quinnipiac has now won four of its last five meetings with Iona. The Bobcats have won two straight in New Rochelle.
- QU returns to the floor on Thursday, as the Bobcats play host to Merrimack at 7:00 PM to continue league action.
