Bobcats Improve to 4-1 in MAAC
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac Men's Basketball cruised past Siena on Friday night at M&T Bank Arena, as the Bobcats won their fourth MAAC game of the season by the final score of 72-53.
Quinnipiac led 39-8 through the first 14-plus minutes of action. The Bobcats went up 43-15 after the first 20 minutes of the contest, shooting 17-of-29 from the field in the first stanza.
Amarri Monroe registered 16 points, 10 rebounds and four steals to lead the way for Quinnipiac. Paul Otieno recorded another double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Khaden Bennett added 14 points and five rebounds, and Jaden Zimmerman chipped in with 13 points and six rebounds.
QU outrebounded Siena 42-25, and held a 38-14 advantage in the paint.
The Bobcats move to 8-8 with the win, and QU has won four of its first five MAAC games of the year.

- QU shot 28-of-59 in total (47.5%), the second-best shooting night the Bobcats have had in 2024-25.
- Quinnipiac led Siena 24-2, and then 32-6 to begin the game in Hamden.
- The Bobcats largest lead was 31, and the team's largest scoring run was 16 points in the middle of the first half.
- QU outrebounded Siena 22-7 in the first half. The Bobcats held the Saints to just 6-of-27 shooting through 20 minutes.
- Preseason MAAC Player of the Year Amarri Monroe is averaging 16.4 PPG, 8.4 RPG, and 3.6 SPG so far over five league matchups. The forward has eight games of 10+ points this season. Monroe has recorded four steals six different times this year.
- Paul Otieno tallied his MAAC-leading seventh double-double of the year. He recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds on 5-of-6 shooting, adding five blocked shots in the winning effort. His five blocked shots are a season-high mark.
- Khaden Bennett is up to 11.3 PPG after a 14-point effort.
- Jaden Zimmerman posted 13 points and six rebounds over 36-plus minutes on the floor, while fellow first-year athlete Grant Randall chipped in with six points and six rebounds (3-5 FG).
- Quinnipiac has won each of the last four meetings with Siena. The Bobcats are 11-11 vs. the Saints since joining the MAAC in 2013-14.
- The Bobcats are now 4-1 over their first five MAAC contests for the second consecutive season under Head Coach Tom Pecora. QU is 18-4 at home over the last two years since Pecora took over.
- QU hits the floor again on Sunday, Jan. 12, traveling to Iona to continue the league slate.
