
Women's Ice Hockey Announces Leadership Group Ahead of 2024-25 Season

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac women's ice hockey program and head coach Cassandra Turner have announced the leadership group for the upcoming 2024-25 season. The group was announced to the team at the annual end of season banquet this spring.
Kendall Cooper will serve as the team's captain, while Maddy Samoskevich and Sophie Urban be assistant captains for the upcoming season.
"I'm proud to announce the leadership group for this upcoming season," said Turner, "These three have proven themselves as leaders in our program and I'm excited to see what they will accomplish this season."
Kendall Cooper – Captain
Cooper returns to the Bobcats for her fifth season, having played in 121 games on the blue line and has been named to All-ECAC teams the past two seasons. Cooper had a career-year a season ago, tallying career-highs in goals and assists to finish third on the Bobcats in points with 33.
Maddy Samoskevich – Assistant Captain
Samoskevich also returns for her fifth year in Hamden with 130 games under her belt. The graduate student defender has compiled 62 points in her career from the blue line, including finish fourth on the team last season in assists. Samoskevich is the younger sister of former Bobcat captain Melissa Samoskevich '19.
Sophie Urban – Assistant Captain
Urban also enters her fifth year, having played in 128 games in a Bobcat uniform. She had career-highs a season ago in goals and assists to tally 12 points, including a goal and an assist against Harvard in the Opening Round of the ECAC Playoffs.
