Bobcats Sweep ECAC Weekend for Fifth Time; Unbeaten in Six of Seven League Weekends
HAMDEN — Powered by a trio of three-point scorers, the No. 7 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program rode a three-goal first period to ride past Dartmouth 5-1 on Saturday night at M&T Bank Arena, securing another ECAC weekend sweep.
Collin Graf, Jacob Quillan and Travis Treloar all recorded a goal and pair of assists, and Mason Marcellus and Sam Lipkin added two-point nights as the Bobcats secured all six points available this weekend.
Graf started the scoring at the 4:51 mark after a great diving play by Mason Marcellus to free up the puck.
It was Marcellus 87 seconds later that doubled the advantage and a Lipkin power play goal that made it 3-0 before the first period buzzer sounded.
Treloar finished off a beautiful passing play on the advantage, making it a 4-0 lead at the 14:22 mark of the middle frame.
Quillan did the same at the 15:54 mark of the third, touching home a pass from Sam Lipkin in front to finish the scoring for the home team.
STATS AND NOTES
Quinnipiac heads to the North Country to take on St. Lawrence and Clarkson on Feb. 9 and 10.
Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m., both nights and can be seen live on ESPN+.
