Bobcats Win OT Thriller to Close Non-Conference Schedule

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac Men's Basketball closed out the non-conference schedule with a thrilling win on Sunday, as the Bobcats outlasted Hofstra by the final score of 75-69 in overtime.
Amarri Monroe and Paul Otieno both recorded a double-double in the victory. Monroe paced the Bobcats with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Paul Otieno registered 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Quinnipiac outrebounded the Pride 51-29, including an impressive 23-3 advantage on the offensive glass.
The Bobcats win in Tom Pecora's reunion with Hofstra. Pecora served as an assistant with the Pride from 1994-2001, then as head coach from 2001-2010.

- The Bobcats shot just 22-of-75 from the floor, knocking down six 3-pointers in the win.
- Quinnipiac's 51 rebounds are a season-high mark. The Bobcats tied a season-best total of 23 offensive boards.
- Paul Otieno scored six points and grabbed three rebounds in the overtime frame, and Khaden Bennett scored four points in the extra stanza.
- QU led for 27:06 in total. There were 10 lead changes.
- Amarri Monroe's double-double is his third of the year. The Preseason MAAC Player of the Year is averaging 14.8 PPG, 7.2 RPG, & 2.8 SPG so far for QU. He's got five straight games with 10+ points.
