Five Score in Double Figures but Bobcats Drop In-State Battle at CCSU

Monroe leads the way with second double-double in last four outings
NEW BRITAIN, Conn. – The Quinnipiac men's basketball program dropped an in-state battle on Saturday afternoon, falling 84-80 to Central Connecticut out of the NEC.
Amarri Monroe led the way for Quinnipiac, totaling 21 points and 10 boards. He also swiped four of Quinnipiac's 11 steals.
Ryan Mabrey hit three of his seven 3-point attempts, joining Monroe in double figures with 12 points on the afternoon.
Paul Otieno (11 points), Jayden Zimmerman (10 points) and Savion Lewis (10 points) joined Mabrey and Monroe in scoring double digits.

- Quinnipiac had five scorers in double figures for the first time this season.
- Tom Pecora's club hit nine, 3-pointers, two off their season best of 11 they hit against Sacred Heart.
- Monroe added three makes from long range, matching his season best.
- His four steals are also the second-most by a Bobcat season, a mark he also owns with his eight against Sacred Heart.
- Amarri also recorded his second double-double of the season, with both coming in the last four outings.
- After entering the week without one on the year, Lewis has scored in double figures in back to back contests.
- Mabrey's 12 points are the second-highest for him this season, five off his 17 he had at St. John's.
- Otieno extended his streak to seven consecutive games scoring in double figures, the longest active stretch on the team.
