Volleyball Closes Out Regular Season With Sweep Over Manhattan

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Quinnipiac Bobcats ended their regular season on a high note as they defeated the Manhattan Jaspers in straight sets.
The Bobcats extended their winning streak to five matches as two Bobcats registered double-digit kills. Yagmur Gunes led the team with 16 kills and Elena Giacomini registered 10 kills in the win.
Chloe Ka'ahanui recorded 29 assists to help power the Bobcats past the Jaspers.

SET ONE (25-13, Quinnipiac)
Quinnipiac jumped out to an early 8-2 advantage as the Jaspers called their first timeout of the set.
Out of the timeout, the Bobcats kept applying the pressure on Manhattan as Quinnipiac closed out the first set on a 17-11 run to win the opening set 25-13.
SET TWO (25-20)
The Bobcats and Jaspers traded points throughout the second set, but Quinnipiac held a 15-14 lead at the media timeout. After the break, Quinnipiac scored three straight points to force Manhattan to use a timeout.
Manhattan came out of the break and went on a 5-3 run to make it a two-point game. After Quinnipiac used a timeout, the Bobcats took a 23-20 lead into Manhattan's final timeout. Back-to-back points from the Bobcats out of the timeout sealed the second set, 25-20.
SET THREE (25-19)
Quinnipiac kicked off the final set on an 8-1 run to force Manhattan to call an early timeout. Out of the break, the Jaspers went on a 16-12 run to shrink the deficit to three.
After Manhattan called their final timeout of the set, Quinnipiac used a 5-2 run to clinch the win in three sets.
