Giacomini, Giusta Record Double-Doubles in Win Over Canisius

BUFFALO, NY. – The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team extended their win streak to six games with a 3-0 sweep over the Canisius Golden Griffins on Saturday afternoon.
Elena Giacomini recorded her ninth double-double (16 kills, 15 digs) of the season and her Bobcat career to lead the Bobcats to their eighth conference victory of the season.

SET ONE (28-26, Quinnipiac)
The Bobcats and Golden Griffins traded points for much of the first half, but it was the Bobcats that held a 21-18 advantage as Canisius called their first timeout of the set. After three straight points from Canisius, the Bobcats called their timeout with the game even at 21.
Out of the break, Canisius took a 25-24 lead before the Bobcats used their final timeout of the set. After the Bobcats took a 26-25 lead, Canisius used their final timeout. After Canisius scored a point to even the match at 26, the Bobcats got the final two points to win the first set, 28-26.
SET TWO (25-11)
The Bobcats opened the set with an 9-5 run as Canisius used their first timeout of the second set. Out of the timeout, the Bobcats went on a 4-0 run to take a 13-5 run and force Canisius to use their final timeout of the set.
The Bobcats continued their dominance in the second set as they closed out the set with a 12-6 run.
SET THREE (25-19)
With the Bobcats up 12-7 early in the third set, Canisius called their first timeout of the set. Out of the timeout, the Bobcats used a 5-1 run to make it a 17-8 set.
After Canisius's final timeout of the set, Kyle Robinson called Quinnipiac's first timeout after the Golden Griffins scored three straight points. Canisius came out of the break and closed the gap as Quinnipiac called their final timeout while holding a 19-16 lead. Out of the timeout, Quinnipiac went on a 6-3 run to close out the match.

- Leilani-kai Giusta registered 13 digs and 11 kills for her fourth double-double of the season.
- Six different Bobcats recorded at least one kill in the win over Canisius.
- Elena Giacomini led the Bobcats with three aces and Leilani-kai Giusta and Fa'avae Kimsel Moe each recorded two aces.
- Damla Gunes recorded 34 assists in the effort.
- Quinnipiac and Siena each registered 6.0 total blocks.
- The Bobcats combined for 47 kills compared to 18 kills from the Golden Griffins.
- Quinnipiac dominated the service line with nine aces in the win against Canisius.
