Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight After Downing Marist

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY. – On Saturday afternoon, the Quinnipiac volleyball team won their fourth consecutive game after defeating Sacred Heart, 3-1.
Elena Giacomini led the offensive charge with 17 kills each in the four-set victory. Damla Gunes registered 40 assists in the effort.

SET ONE (25-18, Quinnipiac)
The Bobcats began the set with a 7-2 lead. The Red Foxes quickly closed the gap, bringing the score to 8-7.
The Bobcats controlled the set, maintaining a lead of five points for most of it. Quinnipiac went on to win the set 25-18.
SET TWO (21-25)
The second set started differently. The Red Foxes opened on a 5-0 run. The Bobcats struggled to recover and fell behind by 11 points.
Despite cutting the deficit to 22-18, Quinnipiac couldn't finish strong, and Marist secured the set with a 25-21 win.
SET THREE (25-14)
Marist struck first in the set, but Quinnipiac quickly responded with their own point. The Bobcats then surged ahead with a 7-0 run, taking control with an 8-3 lead.
Quinnipiac maintained their momentum, stringing together multiple runs throughout the set, ultimately securing a 25-14 victory.
SET FOUR (25-18)
The Bobcats carried their energy into the fourth and final set, jumping to a 10-3 lead. The Red Foxes responded with an 8-1 run but couldn't sustain their comeback, falling 25-18 in a close finish.

- Giusta recorded double-digit kills for the 10th match in a row.
- Quinnipiac recorded 10.0 total blocks, while Marist had 8.0 total blocks.
- The Bobcats combined for 55 kills compared to 42 kills from the Red Foxes.
- Quinnipiac dominated the service line with 14 aces in the victory over the Red Foxes.
- Damla Gunes recorded 40 assists in the effort.
