Bobcats Defeat Yale 1-0 to Set Up Rematch with UConn
HARTFORD — The No. 7/8 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program will look to defend its CT Ice title on Saturday night after advancing via a 1-0 semifinal win over Yale on Friday night at the XL Center.
Mason Marcellus scored the game's lone goal, slotting home a pass from Travis Treloar from point blank to give the Bobcats all they would need in the semifinal victory.
The Bobcats dominated the first period, outshooting Yale 17-2 in the opening frame and capitalized thanks to the goal from Marcellus.
Vinny Duplessis kept the Bulldogs off the board, stopping all 13 shots on his frame.
STATS AND NOTES
Quinnipiac and UConn will battle once again for the CT Ice trophy, tomorrow night at 7 p.m., at the XL Center. The Bobcats defeated the Huskies 4-3 a season ago in the final.
