Ava Sollenne Earns Rookie Of The Week Honors

EDISON, NJ – Quinnipiac Women's Basketball first-year guard Ava Sollenne has been named Hercules Tires MAAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday, Jan. 22, 2024.
Sollenne led the Bobcats in scoring in their game against Niagara (1/20), dropping a career-high 30 points. The Greenwich, Connecticut-native shot 10-of-14 from the floor, and 5-for-8 from three-point range. Sollenne also picked up career-highs in rebounds (6), assists (4), and steals (2).
Sollenne had a career game against Niagara, setting a career high in field goals made, field goals attempted, three pointers made, three-pointers attempted, and free throws made and attempted. Sollenne is averaging 8.4 points per game, 2.1 rebounds per game, and 1.1 assists per game in seven appearances. The first year is shooting 50% (20-40) from the field and 46.7% (14-30) from beyond the arc.
The Bobcats (7-9 overall) return to action on Thursday, Jan. 25, taking on in-state rival Fairfield in Hamden. QU finishes off the weekend with a matchup against the Siena Saints on Saturday at 4 PM.
