
No. 3 Quinnipiac Drops Road Matchup at Colgate

HAMILTON, N.Y. — The No. 3 Quinnipiac men's ice hockey program fell in enemy territory on Friday night, falling to Colgate 2-1 at the Class of 1965 Arena.
After a scoreless first period, the teams traded tallies in the second with Alex Power providing the latter goal in the frame, knotting the proceedings at one apiece after 40 minutes.
Colgate would take advantage of a Quinnipiac major penalty midway through the third, putting a slapshot from the point between Matej Marinov's legs to put them ahead for good at the 5:14 mark of the third.
Marinov made 25 saves on 27 shots on his net.

- Entering the day second in the ECAC in faceoff wins, Jacob Quillan recorded 18 wins on 24 tries from the faceoff dot. He is winning 68.6 percent at the dot the last four games.
- Power recorded his second goal of the season. His other came on Nov. 10 in a 5-1 win over Brown.
- With an assist on the goal, Davis Pennington has recorded points in four consecutive contests.
- Anthony Cipollone recorded the primary assist on the goal and now has three points in his last three games.
