Bobcats Top Siena, Win 5th Consecutive MAAC Game

ALBANY, NY – Quinnipiac Men's Basketball cruised to its fifth consecutive league victory on Friday night at MVP Arena, as the Bobcats defeated Siena by the final score of 82-70.
Matt Balanc led the scoring charge with 26 points (10-20 FG).
Amarri Tice added 17 points, three rebounds and two blocks, and Richie Springs chipped in with 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Bobcats outscored Siena 39-26 in the first half, then QU opened up the second half on an 11-3 run to extend the lead to 21 points.
Quinnipiac moves to 13-4 overall, and 5-1 in MAAC play. The Bobcats are now tied with Saint Peter's for first place in the league standings.

- Quinnipiac was led offensively once again by Matt Balanc, who registered 26 points on 10-of-20 shooting. The graduate student knocked down five 3-pointers and grabbed six rebounds in the victory. Balanc has posted 20+ points eight times in 2023-24.
- Amarri Tice chipped in with 17 points, three rebounds and two blocks. The reigning MAAC Player of the Week is averaging 13.3 points per contest in MAAC play.
- Richie Springs added 11 points and seven rebounds in 15+ minutes off the bench. He's scored 10+ points four different times.
- Doug Young and Alexis Reyes each added nine points.
- Paul Otieno recorded six points and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. The big man is averaging 8.5 rebounds per game through six league games.
- Point guard Savion Lewis tallied four points and six assists. Lewis – who leads the country in assists rate – is averaging 7.5 helpers per contest.
- The Bobcats shot 30-of-70 in total. QU knocked down eight 3-pointers.
- Quinnipiac won the battle on the glass, outrebounding Siena 43-34. The Bobcats grabbed 18 offensive rebounds (tied for a season-best mark), and outscored Siena 29-13 in second chance points.
- QU's largest lead was 21 points. The Bobcats led for 38:20 in total.
- Quinnipiac turned the ball over just 10 times, the second lowest total of the season for the Bobcats. QU recorded just one turnover during the first half.
- The Bobcats are now 9-11 against Siena since joining the MAAC. QU has taked three of the last four meetings.
- The Bobcats are back in action on Sunday, Jan. 21, hosting defending MAAC champion Iona at M&T Bank Arena in Hamden (2:00 PM on ESPN+).
