Bobcats Outscore Iona 19-3 Over Final 4:50 to Earn MAAC Win
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac Men's Basketball earned its sixth consecutive MAAC victory on Sunday afternoon in Hamden, as the Bobcats erased a 14-point deficit to down Iona by the final score of 91-87.
Doug Young led the Bobcats with a season-high 24 points off the bench on 9-of-12 shooting.
Savion Lewis recorded 10 points and nine assists, including the go-ahead bucket with 28 seconds remaining. Lewis drove to the basket and finished through traffic to put Quinnipiac ahead 87-86 during the final moments, then the Bobcats held on for another MAAC victory.
QU outscored Iona 19-3 over the final 4:50 to earn the victory. The Bobcats are now 14-4 overall, and remain atop the MAAC standings with a 6-1 league mark.
Amarri Tice added 19 points and eight rebounds, while Paul Otieno chipped in with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

- Quinnipiac erased an 84-72 deficit, outscoring Iona 19-3 over the final 4:50. Doug Young recorded 11 points during the final five minutes of action.
- Doug Young led Quinnipiac with 24 points during his career day off the bench. He shot 9-of-12, knocked down a pair of 3-pointers and finished with a +17 plus/minus rating.
- Amarri Tice recorded 19 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two assists. The transfer went 7-for-11 in 33+ minutes.
- Paul Otieno registered his second double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. The big man registered five offensive rebounds.
- Matt Balanc added 15 points and four rebounds, including 11 points during the second half of action.
- Savion Lewis filled the box score with 10 points, nine assists and four rebounds. Lewis went 4-of-6 from the field. He's averaging 7.6 assists per game.
- The Bobcats shot 33-of-56 (58.9%) for the game, and 19-of-27 (70.4%) in the second half of play.
- Quinnipiac turned it over 14 times, while Iona had 13 miscues.
- QU led for just 1:36 in total. The Bobcats trailed by as many as 14 points (16:45 left in the second half).
