Mingachos, Chochol Named To 2023 NEWISA All-New England Teams

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's soccer graduate defender Kayla Mingachos was named to the 2023 NEWISA DI All-New England Second Team, while senior forward Courtney Chochol was named to the 2023 NEWISA DI All-New England third team, as announced by the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association on January 11th.
"The 2023 NEWISA All-New England Team highlights the best student-athletes from colleges and universities in the region," said NEWISA President Tom McGuinness. "These players represent many of the most talented collegiate players in the country."
Mingachos held down the back line all season for the Bobcats helping them nine clean sheets all season to help them reach the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year. She was named Defensive Player of the year in the MAAC along with two other members of the Bobcats squad. Mingachos recorded one goal and played over 1200 minutes to hold down the back line for the Bobcats.
Chochol was stellar for the Bobcats all season, leading the team in goals (8) and assists (9) while leading the team to their second straight MAAC Title. The MAAC Golden Boot award winner recorded eight goals and nine assists, which both led the team. With a combined 25 points, Chochol was named to the All-MAAC First team after she led the conference in points and assists.
