HAMDEN, Conn. — Quinnipiac women's soccer defeated the Canisius Golden Griffins in its MAAC home-opener by a score of 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats received goals from Olivia Scott and Milena Branco en route to the victory over the Golden Griffins.

Quinnipiac's defense was spectacular all afternoon, allowing just two shot attempts with one of those on goal.

SCORING SUMMARY

Second Half

(48' – Quinnipiac 1, Canisius 0) – Off a Quinnipiac free kick, Madison Mandleur sent the ball into the box where it bounced around in front of the cage. The ball eventually found the right foot of Olivia Scott who sent the ball into the back of the net.
(82' – Quinnipiac 2, Canisius 0) – Courtney Chochol made a nice move on a Canisius defender before sending a cross into the box. Milena Branco found the ball and snuck it past the goalkeeper to make it a two-goal lead.

NOTES

Scott tallied her first goal of the 2023 campaign and her 11^th of her collegiate career.
Branco scored her first collegiate goal with her tally in the 82^nd minute.
With her assist on the second goal, Courtney Chochol now leads the team with five assists.
Madison Mandleur is now second on the team in assists (3) after she assisted on the opening goal.
