SPARKS, Md. — Quinnipiac Associate Athletic Trainer Olivia King will be representing Team USA next summer, as one of the two ATC's for the American squad headed to the Women's U20 World Championships in Hong Kong.
She joins Virginia Tech's Anne Bryan on the team's athletic training staff.
"I am very excited for the opportunity to work with the incredible players, coaches, and staff of the USA Lacrosse U20 Women's National Team as we work to win gold at the 2024 U20 World Cup in Hong Kong," King said. "I want to thank my family, coworkers and mentors for their support. I am looking forward to representing Quinnipiac University Sports Medicine on the world stage."
King joined the Bobcats' staff in January 2023, working with Quinnipiac's women's lacrosse program this spring. She will also work with the women's soccer program this upcoming fall. Prior to Hamden, King served at the United States Military Academy at West Point and Emory University.
The Americans have won five of the last six gold medals in an event that started in 1995, most recently defeating Canada, 13-3, in Peterborough, Ontario in 2019. It will be the first edition of the tournament to be held in Asia, featuring some of the world's best junior lacrosse players.
