LAKE PLACID, N.Y. — Yaniv Perets tallied a career-high 45 saves but the top-seeded and No. 2-nationally ranked Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey program fell short in a double-overtime matchup with Colgate, with the Raiders scoring the winner 8:50 into the second sudden death period to take the ECAC semifinal matchup 2-1.
Perets made 28 stops in the third period and first overtime sessions to keep the Bobcats in the game, and Ethan de Jong was the lone goalscorer, banking a shot off the post then off the Colgate netminder before it found the net to tie the game 3:47 into the third.
Daniel Panetta started the scoring at the 16:48 mark of the period and Ross Milton earned the double-overtime winner to complete the scoring for the Raiders.
