Bobcats Finish Off Sweep of ECAC Quarterfinals

HAMDEN, Conn. — The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team is headed back to Lake Placid.
The Bobcats knocked off Yale, 6-2, on Saturday night at M&T Bank Arena, finishing off its 2022-23 season unbeaten at home and advancing to the ECAC Semifinals for the third consecutive season.
Saturday night's hosts scored two in each period, starting with Michael Lombardi's deflection goal 2:41 into the game.
Skyler Brind'Amour and Zach Metsa led the way offensively with three points apiece, as Brind'Amour dished a trio of helpers and Metsa added a goal with two assists.
Jayden Lee also added a pair of assists, joining Collin Graf in having multi-point nights.
Yaniv Perets won his 30th game, making 18 saves in the victory.

The ECAC Semifinals await in Lake Placid, N.Y., at the Herb Brooks Arena, as the top-seeded Bobcats will face fifth-seeded Colgate on Friday night. The winner will take on the winner of Harvard and Cornell for the title.

STATS AND NOTES
- Brind'Amour dished a career-high three assists, besting his previous best of two last set on Feb. 18 vs. Brown.
- The Bobcats finished the regular season undefeated at home, going 15-0-1. They are 32-2-2 at M&T Bank Arena over the last two games and currently stand with the nation's longest active home winning streak at 15.
- Metsa's three-point night matches his season-best, last done with a three-assist night against UConn in the Connecticut Ice Championship. He's recorded a point in five of his last six games, totaling seven over that stretch.
- Lee recorded his second, multi-assist night in the last three games with two redirected pucks in front finding the back of the net. He also added a pair of helpers against RPI in the regular season finale.
- Graf has recorded 15 points over the last seven games, recording multiple points in each of the last three games. His 54 points on the year are tied for third-most in the program's Division I history.
