Bobcats Win OT Thriller to Advance to ECAC Hockey Semifinals

HAMDEN, Conn.-- The No. 8 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team defeated St. Lawrence, 2-1 in an overtime thriller at M&T Bank Arena to advance to the ECAC Hockey semifinals. Senior defender Kate Reilly tied the game unassisted and shorthanded after St. Lawrence held a 1-0 lead through the majority of play.
Assistant captain Sadie Peart scored the game winner in OT from the slot over Saints netminder Lucy Morgan's glove side shoulder.

- (9:00, 3rd period, SH) Quinnipiac 1, St. Lawrence 1: Senior defender Kate Reilly evened the score at one in the third period. Reilly sniped one past Lucy Morgan on a 3-on-1 breakaway in the near circle.
- (3:05, Overtime, EV) Quinnipiac 2, St. Lawrence 1: Senior assistant captain Sadie Peart ended the Saints post-season run just three minutes into overtime. Peart put a shot towards the net, but it was blocked in front by a Saint. The puck bounced back to Peart in the slot, and she buried it over Morgan's glove side to advance the Bobcats into the ECAC Hockey semifinals.
NOTES
- Reilly's shorthanded goal marked the Bobcats fifth of the season.
- This is only the third time this season that the Bobcats have had an overtime game.
- All three overtime matchups ended in a Bobcat's victory.
- Peart's game winning goal ties her with Olivia Mobley for most game winning goals on the year (5).
- Logan Angers made 24 saves on 25 shots.
- The Bobcats outshot the Saints 33-25 through 60 minutes.
- QU also won in the faceoff circle going 33-28 at the dot.

- The Bobcats will head to the ECAC Hockey Semifinals and will face the Colgate Raiders in New Haven. The single elimination matchup will take place on Friday, March 3 at 6:30 p.m.
