Bobcats Drop Final Regular Season Matchup at Clarkson

POTSDAM, N.Y.— The No. 6/7 Quinnipiac women's ice hockey team dropped the final regular season matchup to No. 9/10 Clarkson at Cheel Arena on Saturday, Feb. 18. The Bobcats managed to cut the Golden Knights early two goal lead in half in the third period, giving QU a boost of offense in the coming minutes. It ultimately wasn't enough, however, as the 2-1 Clarkson score stood at the end of 60 minutes.
Graduate Captain Lexie Adzija tallied the only goal for the Bobcats, with help from Nina Steigauf and junior Maddy Samoskevich.

- (4:49, 1st period, EV) Quinnipiac 0, Clarkson 1: The Golden Knights got on the board early and fast in the first period. Jenna Goodwin found a way to bury one past Logan Angers with help from Darcie Lappan and Jaden Bogden.
- (6:15, 1st period, EV) Quinnipiac 0, Clarkson 2: Clarkson added to their lead just a minute and 26 seconds later when Gabrielle David slipped one into the net by Angers.
- (14:21, 3rd period, PP) Quinnipiac 1, Clarkson 2: Captain Lexie Adzija was given the opportunity to battle back in the third period when the Golden Knights took a call for interference. After a blocked shot from Nina Steigauf at the top of the slot, Steigauf corralled her own rebound and was able to cycle through the zone to the far circle where she found Adzija in front and redirected the pass behind Michelle Pasiechnyk.

- The Bobcats secured the No. 3 seed in the ECAC Hockey playoffs.
- The Bobcats will face off against St. Lawrence in the quarterfinals starting this Friday, Feb. 24 at M&T Bank Arena.
