Bobcats Celebrate Senior Day With Sweep Over Siena

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's volleyball celebrated Senior Day with a win, as the Bobcats downed MAAC foe Siena in three sets on Sunday afternoon inside Burt Kahn to wrap the home portion of their schedule.
Aryanah Diaz notched her 1,000th career kill in the victory, becoming just the second player in the program's Div. I history to accomplish the feat.
With the win, Quinnipiac improved to 17-8 overall on the season and 13-3 in MAAC play, while Siena fell to 2-25 on the season and 2-15 in conference play.

SET ONE (25-20, Quinnipiac)
The Bobcats jumped out to an early 15-5 lead over Siena and never looked back. Early in the set, Aryanah Diaz scored two quick kills to earn 1,000 for her career. With that accomplishment, she became just the second player in the program's Div. I history to reach 1,000 career kills.
The Bobcats never looked back, taking the opening set, 25-20.
SET TWO (25-19)
The Bobcats slowly pushed ahead to a 9-5 lead before Siena fought back to take an 11-9 lead thanks to a 6-0 run. After Quinnipiac knotted the set at 11-11, the Saints pushed the lead to 13-11, forcing a QU timeout.
Out of the break, the Saints built their lead up to 17-12 before the Bobcats went on a 4-0 run to trim the deficit to one, forcing a Siena timeout. Out of the break, the Bobcats went on a 5-1 run to take a 21-18 lead, forcing the Saints to use their final timeout of the frame.
Quinnipiac never lost footing out of the break, cruising to a 25-19 set win.
SET THREE (25-23)
The two sides exchanged points to a 17-17 tie before Quinnipiac took a one-point lead and forced Siena to call timeout. Siena was able to tie the set at 18-18 before the Bobcats went on a 3-1 run to creep ahead 21-19 before Siena tied the set at 22-22.
QU was undeterred, taking three of the next four points to seal the set and match.
