Bobcats Move to 4-1 with the Home Victory
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac Men's Basketball battled to an impressive comeback victory on Sunday afternoon in Hamden, downing Albany in non-conference action by the final score of 85-82.
The Bobcats outscored UAlbany 18-8 over the last 5:10 of regulation to move to 4-1 so far this year.
Paul Otieno led the Bobcats with a double-double, scoring a career-high 21 points to go along with 14 rebounds. Savion Lewis chipped in with 16 points and nine assists in the victory.
Amarri Tice chipped in with 14 points, while Matt Balanc added 13 points.

- QU shot 30-of-68 (44.1%) from the floor in the victory. The Bobcats went just 1-7 from three-point distance, but shot 29-of-61 from inside the arc.
- UAlbany led for 30:53 in total. The Bobcats' largest lead was three points (the final score of 85-82).
- Quinnipiac went 14-of-32 from the field during the second half of play, outscoring the Great Danes 45-35 to earn the comeback victory. Paul Otieno scored 13 points in the second half. Matt Balanc recorded 11 points during the final 20 minutes.
- Paul Otieno led Quinnipiac with a career-high 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting. The Kenya-native also grabbed 14 rebounds en route to his first double-double of the season. Otieno also blocked three shots on the defensive end.
- Savion Lewis added 16 points and nine assists. Lewis, who ranked tied for first in the country in assists heading into Sunday, has recorded helper totals of 8, 11, 9, 5, and 9 so far in 2023-24. He tallied 34 points between a pair of games (at Army/vs. Albany) this week.
- Amarri Tice chipped in with 14 points and four rebounds. The transfer has made an immediate impact at QU, recording double-digit point totals in three of the last five. He also added a team-best four blocks.
- Matt Balanc battled to a 13-point, 6-rebound performance for Quinnipiac. The Bobcats' leading scorer is averaging 17.0 PPG during his graduate season.
- Alexis Reyes added eight points and four rebounds in 24 minutes.
- The Bobcats outscored UAlbany 50-44 in the paint, and 20-8 on fast break chances.
- QU is now 6-1 vs. Albany dating back to 2001. The Bobcats have taken two consecutive meetings over the Great Danes.
- Quinnipiac returns to the floor on Sunday, Nov. 26, playing host to Stonehill at 2:00 PM in Hamden to continue the non-conference schedule.
