HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's volleyball remained unbeaten at home, as the Bobcats downed in-state and MAAC rival Fairfield in four sets on Sunday afternoon inside Burt Kahn.

Ginevra Giovagnoni led the charge with 20 kills and 17 digs, while Aryanah Diaz registered 19 kills and 11 digs for a double-double of her own. Damla Gunes tallied a match-best 50 assists and contributed 17 digs in the victory.

With the win, Quinnipiac improved to 16-7 overall on the season and 12-2 in MAAC play, while Fairfield fell to 15-6 on the season and 11-2 in conference play.

SET ONE (25-22, Fairfield)
The two sides exchanged points in the opening set before Fairfield slowly crept out ahead to an 11-6 lead to force a Quinnipiac timeout. Out of the timeout, the Bobcats went on a 4-1 run to trim the deficit to 15-11, forcing a timeout from the Stags.

Fairfield was able to extend the lead to 20-14 after the break, forcing QU to burn its final timeout of the set. The Bobcats cut the deficit to as close as 24-22, however, Fairfield held on for the 25-22 set win.

SET TWO (20-25)
The Bobcats started hot, jumping out to a 6-2 lead in the frame before Fairfield battled back and tied the set at 10-10. However, QU pushed ahead 12-10, forcing a Fairfield timeout. Quinnipiac's lead swelled to 22-15 before the Stags called a timeout. Fairfield couldn't recover as the Bobcats took the set 25-20.

SET THREE (21-25)
The two sides exchanged points early in the set before the Stags crept ahead to a 13-9 lead. Fairfield's lead reached 15-11 before Quinnipiac used its first timeout of the frame. Out of the break, the Bobcats went on a 4-0 run to knot the set at 15-15, forcing a Fairfield timeout.

Out of the break, the two sides battled to a 21-21 tie before a 4-0 run from the Bobcats secured the set win at 25-21.

SET FOUR (22-25)
The two sides played to an even 16-16 tie in the set before Quinnipiac went on a 2-0 run to force a Fairfield timeout with the Bobcats leading 18-16. Out of the break, the Stags fought back to knot the set at 20-20 before the two sides were tied at 22-22. Quinnipiac never wavered, taking the next three points to secure the set and match victory.

The Bobcats will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 4, when QU plays host to Marist at home at 1 p.m.
