QU Captures Second Consecutive MAAC Championship

MONTGOMERY, NY — The Quinnipiac women's cross country team captured its second consecutive MAAC title on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Twin Ponds on the Farm.
Powered by five runners inside the Top 10, the Bobcats claimed a convincing victory for the program's third-ever MAAC championship.
Corrine Barney paced the Bobcats (21:01.5) with a third-place finish. Alessandra Zaffina (21:06.1) finished close behind in fourth place. Rachel St. Germain finished sixth, Emily Young finished eighth, and Liv DiStefano placed 10th in the championship. All five Bobcats finished on the All-MAAC Team.

The Bobcats will compete in the NCAA Regionals in two weeks, taking place on Nov. 10 at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. The women's race is slated for an 11 a.m. start with bids in the NCAA National Championship on the line.
