Robinson Earns 200th Career Win as Bobcats Sweep Canisius

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Quinnipiac women's volleyball head coach Kyle Robinson earned his 200th career win as a Div. I collegiate head coach, as his Bobcats downed conference foe Canisius on the road in straight sets Sunday inside the Koessler Athletic Center.

Yagmur Gunes led the way for Quinnipiac with 18 kills and 11 digs for a double-double, while Ginevra Giovagnoni added 13 kills and 11 digs for a double-double as well. Damla Gunes tallied 35 assists in the victory.

With the win, Quinnipiac improved to 14-7 overall on the season and 10-2 in MAAC play, while Canisius fell to 6-14 on the season and 4-8 in conference play.

SET ONE (25-19, Quinnipiac)
The Bobcats jumped out to a swift 7-2 lead to force a Canisius timeout. Out of the break, the Bobcats held strong, carrying a 15-9 lead before Canisius used its second timeout of the set. The Bobcats never wavered out of the timeout. Holding strong to take a 25-19 victory.

SET TWO (25-22)
The two sides exchanged points to a 15-15 tie before Canisius crept ahead to an 18-16 lead. The Bobcats responded by taking a 21-20 lead before Canisius called a timeout. Out of the timeout, QU took four of the next six points to secure the set win.

SET THREE (25-17)
The two sides traded points to an 8-8 tie before QU went on a 4-0 run to push the lead to 12-8, forcing a Canisius timeout. Canisius was able to cut it as close as 16-13 out of the break, but the Bobcats never wavered, taking the victory in consecutive sets.

With the win, head coach Kyle Robinson earned his 200th career victory as a head coach
Yagmur Gunes led QU with 18 kills and added 11 digs for the double-double
Ginevra Giovagnoni contributed 13 kills and 11 digs for a double-double
Damla Gunes added 35 assists and six digs
Aryanah Diaz totaled seven kills and 11 digs
Fa'avae Kimsel Moe notched 20 digs in the victory

NEXT UP
The Bobcats will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 25, when QU plays host to Iona at home at 7 p.m.
