No. 1 Bobcats Fall After Third Period Rally
1/21/2023 9:56:00 PM | Men's Ice Hockey
HAMILTON, N.Y. — The No. 1 Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey program scored the first two goals of the game on Saturday night but Colgate would score the next three, knocking off the Bobcats 3-2 at the Class of 1965 Arena, dropping the Bobcats to 12-2-0 in ECAC play and 18-3-3 overall.
The Bobcats got off to a good start, as the Collin Graf potted his 12th of the year on the power play to give the visitors the advantage after 20 minutes.
It was a great pass from Cristophe Tellier to set up the Quinnipiac's second of the night, as Christophe Fillion was on the receiving end and he beat the goaltender to the far post to double the advantage.
That would end Quinnipiac's scoring, however, as Colgate cut the deficit in half heading to the third and then scored two in the game's final frame to earn the victory.
STATS AND NOTES
Quinnipiac returns to action next weekend, hosting Sacred Heart on Friday night and then the winner of Yale and UConn on Saturday as they welcome all four Connecticut schools to M&T Bank Arena.
Puck drop for both doubleheaders is slated for 4 p.m., and 7 p.m.,
