Former St. John's Midfielder to Wear #10 at Quinnipiac
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's soccer has announced the addition of transfer midfielder Filip Kangeman, as announced by Head Coach Eric Da Costa and the Bobcats on Jan. 18, 2023.
Kangeman – a midfielder from Karlskrona, Sweden – has joined the Bobcats for the 2023 season. He will wear number 10 at Quinnipiac in the fall of 2023.
"The coaches at Quinnipiac immediately gave me a good picture about the school and the program. You can tell the program operates like a family, and that the players enjoy being a student-athlete at Quinnipiac," Kangeman said. "I'm looking forward to joining a great team with excellent coaches who play a style that will fit my skillset, and I also can't wait to get to know new people and to explore another part of America."

The sophomore joins Quinnipiac after playing in nine matches at St. John's in 2021. Kangeman appeared in nine games as a reserve, helping the Red Storm to an 11-6-3 record and a third-place finish in the BIG EAST. St. John's went to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2021. The midfielder made his collegiate debut at Xavier (Sept. 18, 2021).
He's also previously played for FC Zürich in Switzerland.
"I expect to develop as a player and a person during my years at Quinnipiac," Kangeman continued, "and I'm excited to be part of a successful team that will compete for trophies."
