FAIRFIELD, Conn.. – Quinnipiac volleyball wraps its early MAAC road stand, as the Bobcats travel to take on nearby MAAC foes Fairfield on Saturday inside of the Fairfield RecPlex at 1 p.m.
THE MATCHUP: vs. FAIRFIELD
- Saturday's match between the Bobcats and Stags will mark the 23rd meeting between the two programs
- Fairfield owns a 20-2 record all-time against Quinnipiac
- The last time the two sides matched up, Fairfield came away with a four-set victory over QU in Hamden on Oct. 30, 2021
- Nicole Legg led the Bobcats with 13 kills and six blocks in the four-set loss against the Stags
- Fairfield enters the contest at 10-5 on the season and 4-0 in MAAC contests
- The Stags has not allowed a MAAC opponent to claim a set victory in a match yet
- KJ Johnson leads the Stags with 187 kills and 225.5 points on the season
- The Bobcats went 1-1 in the second weekend of MAAC play
- The Bobcats defeated Siena in a five-set thriller on the road, before falling in three sets at Marist
- The Bobcats earned its first MAAC win of the season in a thrilling five-set victory over Siena on the road on Sept. 24

- The Bobcats found themselves down 10-4 in the final set before slowly battling back to tie the set at 13-13. With the set tied, Damla Gunes scored a block at the net to give the Bobcats match point, before assisting on a kill from Alexandra Tennon to take the final set and match.
- Tennon posted 16 kills and 13 digs for her third double-double of the season, while Aryanah Diaz added 14 kills and 12 digs for the Bobcats in the victory.

- Diaz opened MAAC play with 26 kills and 11 digs against the Purple Eagles on Sept. 17

- Diaz totaled 14 kills and and 12 digs for the Bobcats in the victory over Siena on Sept. 24
- Through four MAAC contests, Diaz ranks second in the conference in kills with 66
- First year Ginevra Giovagnoni's 89 kills on the season ranks ninth in the MAAC, while her 2.97 kills per set sits eighth in the MAAC
- Giovagnoni has led the Bobcats in kills in three matches this season
- Giovagnoni was named the MAAC Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday, Aug. 30
- This was the first weekly award honor for Giovagnoni this season after just two games played
- She combined to tally a team-best 31 kills, 15 digs, two service aces and a block in Quinnipiac's opening matches against Stony Brook and Fordham
- Giovagnoni recorded nine kills, eight digs and two service aces in the Bobcats' opener at Stony Brook
- She followed that performance with a team-high 22 kills with a blistering .409 attack-percentage and seven digs against Fordham
- First year Damla Gunes has made an instant impact for the Bobcats through 11 games
- Gunes' 263 assists on the season is tops on the team and ranks fifth in the MAAC

- Sophomore Alexandra Tennon's 142 kills on the season ranks seventh in the MAAC, while her 3.30 kills per set is tied for fifth in the MAAC as well
- Alexandra Tennon was named to the All-Tournament team after totaling 43 kills, 30 digs and six blocks at the Comfort Inn-vitational hosted by Morehead State
- Tennon led the Bobcats in kills in all three matches, posting team-high amounts of 11 kills (Morehead State) and 16 kills twice (North Alabama/Robert Morris)
- The Bobcats will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 5 when they take on MAAC foe Marist in Quinnpiac's 2022 home-opener
- First serve is set for 7 p.m.
- Head Coach Kyle Robinson enters his fourth season with the Bobcats
- Robinson has led the Bobcats to 28 wins in three seasons and two MAAC Tournament berths
- Robinson has led QU to appearances in the MAAC Championship (2019) and MAAC Semifinals (2019, 2021)
