HAMDEN, Conn. – Emilia Massarelli scored her second goal of the season to lead Quinnipiac field hockey, but it wasn't enough as the Bobcats came up short at home against No. 13 Old Dominion, 6-1, at the QU Field Hockey Stadium on Friday afternoon.

Q1 – (10:48) – On a penalty stroke, Delphine Le Jeune shot one to the right side past the keeper to give Old Dominion a 1-0 lead
Q2 – (16:26) – After a penalty corner insert, Le Jeune received a pass right in front of the crease and snuck it past the keeper to extend the Monarchs' lead to 2-0
Q2 – (23:58) – Mackenzie Olsommer took a shot on goal but Cristina Torres made the save. The ball deflected of Torres and onto the stick of Aubrey Mytych who snuck it pask the QU keeper
Q2 – (28:18) – After Torres made multiple saves off a penalty corner insert, Sanci Molkenboer shot it home to extend the Monarchs' lead to 4-0
Q3 – (32:15) – After a restart, Stella Tegtmeier sent the ball into the offensive zone from just outside of the circle towards the net. Emilia Massarelli got her stick down and directed it past the keeper to cut the deficit to 4-1.
Q3 – (38:59) – An Old Dominion player took a shot into the circle from outside of the zone and Molkenboer redirected it past the keeper to increase its lead to 5-1.
Q4 – (50:29) – Jolene Ulichney sent the ball into the zone from the near sideline. Frederique Zandbergen corralled it and shot it past the keeper to extend the Monarchs' lead to 6-1

NOTES

Massarelli's goal was her second of the season
The goal marked the 11th of the sophomore's career
Tegtmeier's assist was her third of the season
It tied her for the team lead in assists with Eva Veldhorst
The assist marked Tegtmeier's team-leading 11th point of the season
Tegtmeier has recorded a point in three of the Bobcats' last four contests

UP NEXT

QU will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 25, when the Bobcats play host to Towson at the QU Field Hockey Stadium
The match is set to kick off at 12 p.m.
