Sam McCann recorded a hat trick, Alexander Stjernegaard scored twice, and David Bercedo and Ramesh Delsouz each added on score in the win.
Quinnipiac's seven goals are a new Division I era record. 8 different Bobcats tallied a point.
The Bobcats move to 5-2-1 with the victory. Quinnipiac will now begin MAAC play next week (Wednesday, Sept. 28 at Siena).

QUINNIPIAC SCORING SUMMARY
First Half
- (24' – Quinnipiac 1, Stonehill 0): Ramesh Delsouz got the Bobcats on the board first. Alexander Stjernegaard played a ball in toward goal from the far side, and Delsouz blasted a one-timer into the back of the net with his left foot to give QU an advantage.
- (29' – Quinnipiac 2, Stonehill 0): Captain David Bercedo gave Quinnipiac a two-goal edge just five minutes after the Bobcats' first goal. Jared Smith played in a nice touch to Bercedo, who blasted a shot off the Stonehill keeper that deflected into the net. Jason Budhai also recorded a helper on the goal.
- (37' – Quinnipiac 3, Stonehill 0): Terrance Wilder Jr. drew a foul inside the box, and Alexander Stjernegaard netted the penalty kick chance to make it 3-0 Bobcats.
- (38' – Quinnipiac 4, Stonehill 0): Sam McCann scored his first goal of the night just minutes after Stjernegaard's penalty-kick goal. Jared Smith earned his second helper of the night on McCann's goal – his second in as many games.
- (54' – Quinnipiac 5, Stonehill 0): QU made it 5-0 early in the second half. Keeper Matthew Pisani played a ball deep past the midfield line to Jason Budhai – who collected possession and played a through ball ahead to Sam McCann. The sophomore did the rest, beating the Stonehill keeper for his second goal of the day.
- (57' – Quinnipiac 5, Stonehill 1): Ekrem Hadzic scored his second goal of the season to get Stonehill on the board for the first time.
- (74' – Quinnipiac 6, Stonehill 1): Drew Seguro found Sam McCann ahead of the pack once again, and McCann evaded the Stonehill keeper to score his third goal of the day.
- (79' – Quinnipiac 6, Stonehill 2): Colby Meyer added his second goal of the season – and Stonehill's second score of the game – in the 79th minute of action. Andrew DeBerdinis recorded an assist on the score.
- (80' – Quinnipiac 7, Stonehill 2): Alexander Stjernegaard scored his second goal of the day to round out the scoring for Quinnipiac.
- Quinnipiac's seven-goal performance sets a new Division I program record.
- Sam McCann's hat trick is Quinnipiac's first since Eamon Whelan recorded three goals vs. Siena on 10/30/2019. McCann has scored four times this season – all within the last two matches.
- Alexander Stjernegaard now has 11 points (three goals, five assists) this year. He scored twice and added an assist in QU's victory.
- David Bercedo scored once, raising his season total to five goals (team-high).
- Ramesh Delsouz registered his first collegiate score for the Bobcats. The Denmark-native has played in seven of the Bobcats eight contests in 2022.
- Jared Smith and Jason Budhai each recorded two assists. Drew Seguro and keeper Matthew Pisani each added one helper.
- The Bobcats outshot 28-9. QU recorded 15 shots on goal – the most shots on target the team has attempted in the Division I era.
- Quinnipiac will now turn its attention to MAAC play. The Bobcats travel to Siena next Wednesday (Sept. 28) to begin the league slate.
