HAMDEN, Conn. – 5 different Quinnipiac players scored on Wednesday afternoon at the QU Soccer Stadium in Hamden, as the Bobcats powered past Sacred Heart by the final score of 5-0.
David Bercedo, Alexander Stjernegaard, Alex Holle, Tomas Svecula and Ole Frigstad each found the back of the net for QU. The Bobcats move to 4-1-1 so far on the season, going undefeated over their last five matches.
The shutout is Quinnipiac's third as a team this year. Karl Netzell made two saves to help anchor the defense.
The Bobcats scored five goals in a game for the first time since April 5, 2021 vs. Iona.

First Half
- (17'—Quinnipiac 1, SHU 0): David Bercedo got the Bobcats on the board less than 20 minutes into play. Tomas Svecula found Bercedo, the captain tracked down the ball ahead of him on the right side, took a few touches and blasted a shot into the back of the net with his right foot. Alexander Stjernegaard also earned an assist on the play.
- (18'—Quinnipiac 2, SHU 0): David Bercedo collected possession, dribbled around three defenders, fed Tomas Svecula on the right wing, then Svecula immediately delivered the ball back to Bercedo. The senior turned and fed Alexander Stjernegaard, who put a one-timer into the net to give QU a 2-0 advantage. The Bobcats first two scores came 1:52 apart.
- (60'—Quinnipiac 3, SHU 0): Alex Holle pressured the Sacred Heart defense to earn QU's third goal of the day. Holle pressed the back line, earned possession and played a nice touch into the goal with his right foot. The goal is Holle's second of the 2022 campaign.
- (71'—Quinnipiac 4, SHU 0): Jason Budhai made a nice effort to earn a foul inside the box, then Tomas Svecula put the penalty shot past the keeper to extend the lead further.
- (74'—Quinnipiac 5, SHU 0): Magnus Reistad got the ball inside the box, picked his head up and found Ole Frigstad on the doorstep for an easy finish. The score marked the first points of the season for both Reistad and Frigstad.
- Total shots were 17-7 (9-2) in favor of the Bobcats.
