Anna Kilponen Signs with Metropolitan Riveters of PHF

Defender to Join Premier Hockey Federation Ahead of 2022-23 Season
NEWARK, NJ – Former Quinnipiac women's ice hockey standout Anna Kilponen ('19) has signed a contract with the Metropolitan Riveters of the Premier Hockey Federation, as announced on July 14.
The defender played the final two seasons of her collegiate career in Hamden (2017-18 & 2018-19), transferring into Quinnipiac from North Dakota. Kilponen tallied one goal and eight assists over 52 total games for the Bobcats, and 26 total points for her NCAA career.
The native of Orivesi, Finland represented her country in the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. Kilponen's accomplished international hockey resume includes two gold medals at the IIHF Women's World Championship.
Kilponen split the last two seasons playing professionally in Finland's Naisten Liiga and Russia's ZhHL, where she helped guide the KRS Vanke Rays to a 2021-22 title.

She also has experience in the SDHL, playing one season during the 2019-20 campaign with Linkoping HC. Kilponen recorded three points in 36 games for Linkoping HC.
