
Bobcats Down Fairfield to Win 6th MAAC Title

No. 1 Quinnipiac Cruises Past No. 3 Fairfield, 4-0, in MAAC Championship
WEST WINDSOR, NJ – No. 1 Quinnipiac women's tennis defeated No. 3 Fairfield in the title match of the 2022 MAAC Tennis Championship (presented by Visit NJ) on Sunday, April 24.
With the victory, the Bobcats will advance to the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
Quinnipiac has won six MAAC championships/advanced to the NCAA Tournament six times since joining the league (2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2021-22).
Alessia Truden was named the Most Outstanding Player for the tournament. She won at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in the victory.

- The Bobcats won the doubles point by earning victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 position.
- Kamilla Nella/Alessia Truden won 6-0 from the No. 1 spot. The duo went 4-2 together in MAAC play during the regular season, then earned their first postseason doubles victory today.
- Brittney Wilbur/Claire Koscielski won (6-1) from the No. 2 doubles position over Nowak and Plumtree. The duo is now 6-1 in doubles matches vs. MAAC opponents.
- Alessia Truden defeated the MAAC Player of the Year (Bozinovic) at No. 1 singles, earning a 6-1, 6-1 victory. Truden is now 7-1 in MAAC singles matches this year.
- Claire Koscielski won the clincher for the Bobcats at No. 3 singles. Koscielski topped Bakaite (6-1, 6-0). The All-MAAC First Team selection remains a perfect 7-0 in MAAC singles matches this spring.
- Brittney Wilbur defeated Prinos from the No. 6 spot. Wilbur, a First Team All-MAAC honoree was 5-1 in regular season MAAC matches, and now 2-0 in the postseason.
- Quinnipiac has won six MAAC championships/advanced to the NCAA Tournament six times since joining the league (2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2021-22).
- The Bobcats are 54-1 in MAAC regular season matches since joining the league in 2013-14. Quinnipiac has earned MAAC Regular Season Champion status eight times.
