
Bobcats Place Four Within Top-30 at Hoya Invitational

ROCKVILLE, MD. – Quinnipiac golf first-year Fuge Zhang led Quinnipiac to a seventh place finish at the Hoya Invitational, hosted by Georgetown on Sunday afternoon at the Woodmont Country Club.
Zhang led a Bobcat group that saw three competitors finish within the top-30, as Fuge Zhang tied for sixth, Kaylee Sakoda tied for 11th and Leeyen Peralta placed 26th. Meg Yoshida competed as an individual and tied for 30th at the event as well.
The Bobcats took seventh place among 13 teams after shooting 312-303-319–934 (+70) to close the tournament. Boston University took first place after shooting 915 (+51), four strokes ahead of second place Princeton.
Zhang tied for sixth place after shooting 74-78-76–-228 (+12). Sakoda followed by tying for 11th place. Sakoda shot 77 (+5) in the first round, followed by 71 (-1) and 83 (+11) to close the tournament at 231 (+15). Peralta rounded Quinnipiac's top-30 finishers, taking 26th place after shooting 78-76-81–235 (+19).
Aimee Uchida and Elena Lopez rounded out QU's grouping, tying for 44th and placing 64th respectively. Uchida shot 83-78-82–243 (+27), while Lopez shot 93-89-80–262 (+46) to close the competition. Meg Yoshida participated as an individual and tied for 30th after shooting an 81-79-77–237 (+21).
The Bobcats will be back in action on Monday, April 11, when they send three individuals to compete in the SHU Spring Invite.
