LAVAL, QUEBEC – Quinnipiac men's basketball dropped its first contest of the season on Sunday at Place Bell Arena in Canada, falling vs. Hofstra by the final score of 72-70 at The Northern Classic.
Dezi Jones recorded 18 points, six rebounds and three assists. Tyrese Williams chipped in with 14 points and three rebounds.
The Bobcats suffer their first loss of the 2022-23 season, moving to 7-1 on the year. QU's 7-1 record marks the program's best start to a season since 1969-70.

- Dezi Jones led Quinnipiac in scoring with 18 points, six rebounds and three helpers.
- Tyrese Williams knocked down four 3-pointers off the bench for QU. The graduate student finished with a season-high 14 points to go along with three rebounds. Williams shot 5-of-8 from the floor.
- Luis Kortright added 10 points, four rebounds and two assists.

- Quinnipiac outscored Hofstra 28-16 in the paint, and 27-4 in bench points. The Bobcats forced 26 Hofstra turnovers.
- The Bobcats will now turn their attention to the MAAC opener on Sunday, Dec. 4 in Hamden. Quinnipiac plays host to Niagara at 3:00 PM to begin conference action.
