HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball dropped its MAAC opener vs. Niagara, 64-60, on Sunday afternoon at M&T Bank Arena in Hamden.

Tyrese Williams led the Bobcats with a season-high 18 points. He shot 5-of-11 from the field and knocked down three 3-pointers.

Ike Nweke added 15 points and nine rebounds on 7-of-8 shooting.

Quinnipiac moves to 7-2 on the season with the loss.

QU shot 24-of-51 (47.1%) from the floor, and the Bobcats knocked down six triples in the loss.
Williams' 18 points off the bench over 24 minutes led the Bobcats. He has 42 points over the last two games for Quinnipiac.
Ike Nweke had 15 points and nine rebounds, going an efficient 7-for-8 over 30 minutes. The graduate student has tallied 10+ points in five different games this year.
Dezi Jones recorded 12 points and four rebounds.
Luis Kortright chipped in with eight points off the bench.
Niagara outrebounded Quinnipiac 31-30.
Quinnipiac's bench outscored Niagara 26-9.
There were 11 lead changes, and the game was tied five times.
