Paul Otieno Records Double-Double (13 Points, 15 Rebounds) at The Northern Classic

LAVAL, QUEBEC – Quinnipiac men's basketball outscored Stephen F. Austin 28-18 in the second half of action, as the Bobcats earned a double-digit win (58-44) on Friday afternoon in the first game of The Northern Classic in Canada.

With the victory, QU moves to a perfect 6-0 to begin the 2022-23 campaign. The Bobcats are 6-0 for the first time since 1969-70.

Paul Otieno led the charge for Quinnipiac with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Otieno had nine rebounds in the first half of action.

Luis Kortright added 12 points, and Matt Balanc chipped in with 10 points. Ike Nweke recorded eight points and seven rebounds.

Quinnipiac went on 15-0 run in the second half. The game was tied 37-37 at the start of the run, and the Bobcats led 52-37 with 5:47 left in regulation at the end of the outburst.

Paul Otieno's double-double is his first of the season and as a Bobcat. He shot 5-of-7 from the floor and 3-for-4 from the charity stripe.
Matt Balanc has now registered double-digit totals in four of six games this year.
Luis Kortright has also recorded 10+ points in four of six matchups in 2022-23.
