Fabbri Announces Five for 2023-24 Season

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's basketball has announced the addition of Anna Foley (Andover, MA), Kassidy Thompson (Mullica Hill, NJ), Paige Girardi (Warwick, NY), Emma Carman (Barnegat, NJ) and Karson Martin (Woodstock, GA), as announced by the Bobcats on Monday, Nov. 14 during the early signing period.
"We are extremely excited about this incoming class," Quinnipiac women's basketball head coach Tricia Fabbri said. "We expect it to be one of our deepest ever. It features a little bit of everything and needs to be ready to replace a talented outgoing group."
Anna Foley
6-3 • Forward • Andover, Mass. • Andover High School
A well-accomplished post out of Andover, Mass., Foley averaged 12.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.6 blocks and 1.6 steals per game as a junior last season, earning 2021-22 Boston Globe Athlete of the Year honors, as well as being named the MVC Co-Player of the Year. Foley was an instant impact player for Andover entering her first year of high school, earning 2019-20 All-MVC honors en route to leading Andover to a state championship.

Kassidy Thompson
5-9 • Guard • Mullica Hill, NJ • Camden Catholic
Hailing from a basketball family, Thompson will make her way from Mullica Hill, NJ to Hamden in the fall of 2023. A 1,000-point scorer in just three seasons, Thompson had her big breakout season as a junior last season, earning First Team honors from five different media organizations. She also played on the AAU circuit for New Heights out of New York, which has produced numerous ESPN Top 100 recruits.

"We were thrilled to return to South Jersey and find a dynamic perimeter scorer and defender. Her talents are well suited to our style of play, She's a fierce competitor who comes from a great hoop family."
Paige Girardi
5-9 • Guard • Warwick, NY • Warwick Valley
Hailing out of Warwick, NY, Girardi enjoyed a breakout campaign as a junior last season, recording six 20-point or more contests en route to being named the Offensive Player of the Year. Serving as captain at Warwick, last season Girardi earned All-State honors, First Team All-Section status and was named a Section 9 BCANY All-Star.

"Paige is a versatile, intelligent, wing with the ability to contribute at positions all over the floor. As the daughter of a coach, she possesses an understanding of the game and has a knack for being in the right place at the right time on both ends of the floor. We knew from our first phone call that she would be an amazing fit in our locker room and on our campus and are thrilled that she is a Bobcat!"
Emma Carman
5-10 • Guard • Barnegat, NJ • Red Bank Catholic
Ranked as the No. 9 player in her class in the state of New Jersey per MaxPreps.com, Emma Carman is fresh off leading Red Bank Catholic to a conference and division championship. Carman's junior campaign breakout began after earning recognition at the 2021-22 WOBM Christmas Tournament. By season's end, Carman garnered Second Team All-Conference honors.

Karson Martin
5-7 • Guard • Woodstock, GA • Woodstock
A two-way point guard, Martin will make her way to Hamden in the fall of 2023. Boasting over 1,000 career points and 500 rebounds for Woodstock, she helped lead the team to a state championship appearance as a sophomore. Well accomplished in her three years at Woodstock, Martin is a three-time All-Region selection, as well as a three-time All-County honoree. She also earned First Team All-State honors last season.

"Karson's court vision and ability to get up the floor really stood out. She consistently makes the right decisions with the ball in her hands and is a knock down shooter. This Georgia peach can defend too. We are excited to welcome Karson and her family to our Bobcat family."
