HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's rugby returns to Hamden for Senior Day on Saturday, hosting Mount St. Mary's at the QU Rugby Stadium at 1:00 PM.

SENIOR DAY

Quinnipiac will honor its senior class prior to the start of the match: Gracie Cartwright, Addison Walker, Maya le Rossignol, Grace Gitchell, Erin Terwilliger, Hazel Bice, Madeline Folsom, Libby Moser.

LAST TIME OUT: ROAD VICTORY at LIU

The Bobcats defeated Long Island University by the final score of 31-17 on Saturday afternoon at Robert Blitz Field.
QU earned its second road victory of the season, defeating the Sharks in 13-on-13 competition.
Alexandra Erdolino found the try zone twice for the Bobcats, scoring in both the 30^th and the 33^rd minute of action. Maya le Rossignol, Libby Moser and Kat Storey all chipped in with a try of their own.

SCOUTING MOUNT ST. MARY'S

MSM is 1-5 so far this year, falling its last time out vs. Sacred Heart by the final score of 47-0.
Quinnipiac won the matchup between the two teams last year, topping MSM, 29-5, on 10/30/2021.

BOBCATS COMPLETE PRESEASON TRIP TO NOVA SCOTIA

Quinnipiac took a preseason trip to Nova Scotia in late August, playing in an exhibition vs. X-Women Rugby on Halifax Wanderers Grounds.
The preseason contest took place on Saturday, Aug. 27, and was followed by an international match between Team Canada and Whales.
"This opportunity to travel and compete internationally is ideal for our group's energy and optimism heading into the regular season," Quinnipiac Head Coach Becky Carlson said. "The chance to be the curtain-raiser on an international stage says a lot about Quinnipiac as an NCAA program, and our demand to be considered a top NCAA contender. This match will not only give us a chance to chip away at some of the kinds early on, but it will also show future NCAA rugby student-athletes what kinds of opportunities this experience can lead to."

LAST SEASON

Quinnipiac went 3-4 last season, winning each of their last two games in late October to finish the fall season.
The Bobcats three victories all came on the road – against Sacred Heart (Sept. 3), vs. Northeastern (Oct. 23) and vs. Mount St. Mary's (Oct. 30). QU then went 3-2 in five games during the Brown 7's in April.

HEAD COACH BECKY CARLSON

Carlson enters her 12th season at the helm of the women's rugby program in 2022-23, leading the transition from a new varsity program into a three-time national champion. Carlson has been a key advocate for women's NCAA rugby and equality in athletics for over a decade.
As the original head coach of the Quinnipiac women's rugby team added in 2011, Carlson boasts back-to-back-to-back Division I NIRA national championship titles (2015, 2016 and 2017).
