SCORING SUMMARY
- (05:14, 1st period, EV) - Quinnipiac 1, Toronto 0: CJ McGee had the quick trigger off the faceoff win from TJ Friedman and fired it past the glove side of the Toronto goalie.
- (18:07, 1st period, EV) - Quinnipiac 2, Toronto 0: Zach Metsa earned his first of the season, as the captain trailed the play and Christope Tellier laid it for him to fire high past the blocker.
- (01:13, 2nd period, PP) - Quinnipiac 3, Toronto 0: Skyler Brind'Amour was the beneficiary of a great Collin Graf pass, as he fired the puck across the crease to be touched home by Brind'Amour that gave the Bobcats all they would need.
- (10:32, 2nd period, EV) - Quinnipiac 3, Toronto 1: Owen Guy scored on a breakaway, as he shifted quick to his forehand and beat Yaniv Perets high over his glove.
- (19:53, 3rd period, EV) - Quinnipiac 3, Toronto 2: Cole Purboo punched home a loose puck in front of the net as he barely beat Noah Altman to the left pipe and slid the puck in.
- (20:00, 3rd period, EV) - Quinnipiac 4, Toronto 2: Victor Czerneckianair intercepted an outlet pass in the Toronto zone and shot it into the empty net as time expired.
- Tellier dished a pair of assists on the second and third goals of the night. He entered the day with three assists on his career.
- A preseason All-ECAC selection, Metsa picked up right where he left off in 2021-22 by tallying a goal. He scored in the season finale against Michigan a season ago and recorded a point in five of the last seven contests.
- Brind'Amour also carried a point streak heading into the 2022-23 campaign. He recorded a point in four of the final six games of 2021-22, including both NCAA Tournament contests.
- Czerneckianair made a good first impression in his home state, recording the final goal of the night. The Southington, Conn., native is in his first season with the Bobcats.
- Quinnipiac's defense again flexed its muscles, allowing just 15 shots from the Varsity Blue. They held their opponents to that number or fewer in 10 games last season, posting a 9-1 record in those contests.
