SCORING SUMMARY
- (09:40, 1st period, EV) - Quinnipiac 1, Providence 0: Anthony Cipollone spun off the boards and fired high to the goalie's blocker side and the puck deflected high over the goalie and found its way into the net.
- (04:43, 2nd period, EV) - Quinnipiac 2, Providence 0: For the second consecutive night, CJ McGee went high to the glove side to find the net and double the Bobcats' advantage.
- (13:46, 2nd period, EV) - Quinnipiac 2, Providence 1: Riley Duran skated through the neutral zone and over the blue line before snapping a shot that snuck between the blocker and the sweater of Yaniv Perets to cut the deficit to one.
- (00:23, 3rd period, PP) - Quinnipiac 3, Providence 1: De Jong's first of the day came set up perfectly, as Zach Metsa and Christophe Tellier combined on 1-2 passing to allow the graduate forward to one-time the puck home high over the blocker.
- (04:29, 3rd period, PP) - Quinnipiac 4, Providence 1: De Jong again was the beneficiary of great passing, as Collin Graf won the puck along the boards and slid it all the way across the face of goal, where Tellier was waiting to pass between the legs of the Providence defender and give de Jong an open net.
- (19:45, 3rd period, EV) - Quinnipiac 4, Providence 2: Jarsolav Chmelar was able to crash the net off the feed from Jamie Engelbert and beat Perets at the far pipe.
- After a pair of goals on the man-advantage today, the Bobcats finished the weekend 3-for-9 on the power play.
- de Jong had a pair of goals to his name today and has two such performances this season. He had a hat trick on Nov. 20 of last season and a two-goal night against the same squad during the 2018-19 campaign.
- Entering the season with two career goals, McGee scored in both contests this weekend.
- Zach Metsa continued to show his offensive prowess from the blue line, recording an assist for the second consecutive day. He has 48 over his last two seasons with 27 a year ago and 21 during the 2020-21 campaign.
