Duo Combines for 24 Kills in Commanding Victory
HAMDEN, Conn. – Senior Maggie Baker and junior Aryanah Diaz combined 24 kills to lead Quinnipiac to a 3-0 win over Saint Peter's in Saturday's MAAC women's volleyball opener.
Junior Nicole Legg also played well, added eight kills and seven blocks in the victory.

QUINNIPIAC STATISTICAL LEADERS
Saint Peter's jumped out to a quick 8-4 lead to start the first set, but Quinnipiac quickly regained control with a 15-2 scoring run that forced a SPU timeout at 19-10. A kill by Lexi Morse created a set point for the Bobcats and the hosts closed the set on a Saint Peter's attack error.
SET TWO
The Bobcats controlled the second set thanks to eight straight points that opened up a 13-4 lead. The teams were fairly even throughout the rest of the set, as Quinnipiac maintained its nine-point edge before two straight kills from Georgia Tselepi set up set point and a kill by Nicole Legg locked up the set.
SET THREE
Consistent play from Diaz and Baker lead to another smooth set for the Bobcats in the third. The duo had eight kills in the frame, which ended on a kill by Alisa Mejia to end the match.
NEXT MATCH
The Bobcats return to action tomorrow, Saturday, September 19, as the Rider Broncs visit Hamden for a 1:00 p.m. contest.
