QU Sweeps MAAC Weekly Awards

EDISON, N.J. – The Quinnipiac men's soccer program has swept the MAAC Men's Soccer Weekly Awards, as announced by the league office on Monday, Sept. 13.

The Bobcats won all three weekly honors after earning two road wins this past week (at Sacred Heart, at CCSU).

Brage Aasen – MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
Antreas Hadjigavriel – MAAC Defensive Player of the Week
Sam McCann – MAAC Rookie of the Week

Aasen – the Preseason MAAC Player of the Year – netted the game-winning goal in both QU wins. He scored the Bobcats' first goal in a 2-0 win at Sacred Heart on Sept. 8, then scored off a set piece during the second half of QU's win at CCSU on Sept. 11. Aasen now has eight goals and 10 assists for 26 career points. He's played in 30 games at Quinnipiac.

Antreas Hadjigavriel allowed just one goal over two QU road wins, making 18 total saves in the process. The sophomore recorded a seven-save shutout at Sacred Heart, then made a career-high 11 stops at CCSU on Saturday night. Quinnipiac is 3-0-0 with Hadjigavriel as keeper this season. He's allowed just one goal in that span.

Sam McCann's goal is his first career score with the Bobcats. He scored on a header on Saturday night at CCSU in the 39^th minute, making it 1-0 Bobcats at the time. McCann is the fifth Bobcat to score a goal so far in 2021.
