Volleyball Drops Final Match in Baltimore

BALTIMORE – Quinnipiac women's volleyball lost its final match of the UMBC's Charm City Challenge Presented by Sir Speedy's. The Bobcats took set one against the Howard Bison, but Howard won the three sets in a row to secure the 3-1 win.
Three Bobcats tallied double-digit kills in the loss, and sophomore Chloe Ka'Ahanui recorded 39 assists. Senior Georgia Tselepi was named to the UMBC Charm City Challenge All-Tournament Team.

QUINNIPIAC STATISTICAL LEADERS
The Bison had jumped to an early lead in the first set, but Quinnipiac came back and tied it up after a kill from Olga Zampati. Howard tallied four points in a row, before Quinnipiac came back again to tie the set, 18-18, after a kill from Baker. The Bobcats took the lead, 22-20, and never looked back. Quinnipiac won the first set off a kill from Baker, 25-22.
SET TWO
Howard soared to a 7-4 second set lead after an attacking error by Diaz. The Bison later scored four straight points to take an 14-5 lead; Howard would hold onto the lead for the remainder of the second set and win 25-17.
SET THREE
The Bobcats started the third set strong, taking a 5-3 lead off an ace by Baker. The Bison came storming back and took the lead 8-6 after a kill by Alex Smith. The scoring would go back-and-forth between the two teams with multiple lead changes. Howard tallied the last two points of the set and won, 25-22.
SET FOUR
Howard came out on fire in the fourth set, taking a 7-0 lead. The Bison would extend its lead to 12-4 after a bad set from Ka'Ahanui. Howard would gain a 10-point lead, 17-7, after a kill by Milexa Cardona. The Bison would hold onto the lead and take the set, 25-16, and the match, 3-1.
