BALTIMORE – Quinnipiac women's volleyball dropped a pair of matches on Friday at UMBC's Charm City Challenge Presented by Sir Speedy's.
The Bobcats battled to a four-set loss against UMBC in the first contest, then fell 3-0 vs. Maryland to close the day.

GAME ONE vs UMBC

QUINNIPIAC STATISTICAL LEADERS
SET ONE
UMBC took an early 13-6 lead. Back-to-back kills from Aysia Miller and Mila Lieva for the Retrievers helped clinch the first set (25-13).
SET TWO
QU got out to a 6-3 advantage to open the second set. The Bobcats then later scored five consecutive points, as the run was finished off by an Aryanah Diaz kill – making the lead 11-5. The Bobcats took four of the final six points, capping off a thrilling two point win in the second set. A Georgia Tselepi kill made it 25-24 Bobcats, then an attack error by Mia Bilusic gave Quinnipiac the win.
SET THREE
The Bobcats had an early 4-2 lead, then UMBC scored five straight times to make it 7-4 Retrievers. Nicole Legg's late kill made it 23-17, but Quinnipiac couldn't get any closer as UMBC took the third stanza 25-17. UMBC recorded a 0.400 hitting percentage in the third set, recording 15 kills and just three errors.
SET FOUR
Nicole Legg's kill tied the fourth set 10-10, then the Bobcats took three of the next four points to open up a lead. UMBC would battle back, winning five straight points to retake the advantage. The Retrievers also won five straight points at the end of the set, as Kira Givans recorded a kill to give UMBC the 25-23 fourth-set victory.

QUINNIPIAC STATISTICAL LEADERS

A kill by Georgia Tselepi helped the Bobcats record the first point of the match, but Maryland fought back and took the first set 25-14. The Terrapins took four of the final six points, as a kill from Sam Csire finished the first set. Quinnipiac had 10 kills in the first set.
SET TWO
QU took an early 3-1 lead in the second stanza, as Maggie Baker's ace capped off the quick run. Maryland took six of the next seven points, however, retaking the lead. Quinnipiac recorded a .111 hitting percentage in the second set, while Maryland posted a .278 mark. QU had 10 kills total in the set.
SET THREE
The Terrapins took set number three 25-12 to clinch the victory. Maryland recorded 15 kills and three errors, while the Bobcats posted five kills and six erros.
