Sakoda Finishes the Two Day Invitational Fourth Overall

MILFORD, Conn. – The Quinnipiac women's golf team completed its first multi-day event of the 2021 season as it played in Round Two of the SHU Spring Invitational on Monday. The Bobcats finished the event in sixth place (617, +41).

Kaylee Sakoda finished the invitational in fourth place, shooting +3 for the tournament. The sophomore carded a 71 on Sunday and a 76 on Monday to post the top-five finish.

Competing as an individual golfer on Monday, Darby Lillibridge recorded the best score among the Quinnipiac golfers, shooting a 73 (+1).

SCORES AND NOTES

Sakoda recorded a birdie and an eagle en route to an even par back nine on Monday. She tallied five birdie or better holes over the two day event.
Leeyen Peralta added another three birdies on Monday to give her six over the two rounds. She finished Monday's round with her second consecutive round of 78 (+6).
Elena Ybarra improved on her round one score of 80 (+8) by three strokes on Monday, carding a 77 (+5). Ybarra joined Sakoda with an eagle on the par five, 13^th. She also birdied two holes in the second round.
Mia Grzywinski recorded two birdies in her second round en route to a 79 (+7). She tallied five birdies over the course of the two-day event.
Elena Lopez finished Monday's round with an 82 (+10). She birdied one hole on Monday, giving her four in the invitational.
After not competing on Sunday, three Bobcats competed as individual golfers on Monday. Lillibridge birdied three holes en route to her team best score of 73. Amanda Tully tallied eight pars and one bogey on the back nine. She shot 79 (+7) in her round. Emily Luu recorded two birdies on the front nine as she shot 88 (+16) to round out the action for the Bobcats.

The Bobcats will take on Fairfield and St. John's on Wednesday, April 14 at the H. Smith Richardson Golf Course.
